What to Expect

Our survivor-centered, bottoms-up approach is crafted by survivors for survivors.

Uniquely crafted, our services are informed by a signature framework, curriculum, assessment, and structure that are shaped by conversations with survivors in our listening group sessions. Their lived experiences as direct recipients of our services guided the development of our offerings.

We offer structured and high-quality sessions and workshops to guide you on your personalized journey. Our coaches collectively have:

  • 35+ years of professional experience in diverse skillsets;

  • a Bachelors and/or Master’s degree from accredited universities; and

  • worked nationally and globally with diverse individuals, groups, and communities across diverse sectors.

As you consider partnering with Amalu, 10% of all proceeds from our services go to organizations and initiatives directly serving victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse through our Amalu Give-Back model. It's our way of extending support beyond our services, contributing to the collective healing of our community. Your decision to join us becomes a meaningful impact for positive change in the lives of others.

our collaborative network

  • "Amalu was amazing to have as a guest facilitator for their workshop about healthy relationships. They were professional, personable, and engaging with our group participants. I enjoyed their framework focused on safety, risk assessment, and well-being. With the coach's lived experience and coaching skills, the presentation was not only informative, but it was also relatable and they were a natural in maintaining a safe virtual space for our Filipinx/a/o community. The facilitator was also open to feedback from both participants and organizers, which speaks to their willingness to learn. It truly was a pleasure to work with Amalu and I am hoping for more collaborations in the future.”

  • “Monumental shifts since Amalu Coaching has been supporting us. Much better in our home. I started noticing that the small things my wife cared about matter, and she doesn’t need to ask me anymore. The homework in the sessions helped defuse a situation in a recent argument, and the framework helped to identify the causes of why trust, respect, and healthy communication was broken down. My wife looks forward to the coaching sessions. I appreciate the outside, external perspective outside of our family and friends.”

  • "As an experienced educator, advocate and community organizer, I went through my days with confidence and consistency. However, in the back of mind, I knew I was capable of much more as a leader and changemaker. And then I met Kathy. She brought attention to the blindspots I, as a leader, had avoided and overlooked for years. She was especially effective at unpacking the impact culture, ethnicity and gender had had on my leadership and collaborative skills. My time with Kathy was life-changing. I now have a deeper sense of courage and fierceness as a leader of color– exactly what I needed to continue pushing forward during these times we're living in.”

  • “It was a great experience. And I loved bringing it up in conversation "my life coach, or in my coaching session I learned, etc". I felt like I was more comfortable expressing my feelings but not overthinking what the individuals thought of my statements. Coaching forced me to say things out loud I was afraid to admit in the past. But it also allowed me to focus on the top negative thoughts that came to mind and still be able to say "it doesn't matter, i am happy". I did feel that the actual sessions were not enough.”

  • “Focus Group today made me feel good and confident. I have more faith in myself and opened up to talk in a group. Something I wasn't able to do before, but being able to share my experiences, I feel good now.”

  • “I wish I had even come across this earlier, I am glad I did either way because it has made me heal even more.”
